Dileep Shivpuri is a distinguished retired Chief Commissioner of Income-Tax with over 37 years of service in the Indian Revenue Service (IRS). He successfully handled teams of varying sizes, ranging from 10 to 500 employees, and consistently received "outstanding" reviews for his performance.

Mr. Shivpuri has argued over 300 cases before the Income-Tax Appellate Tribunal and Income-Tax Settlement Commission. As the head of the computerization division of the Income-Tax Department, he supervised the e-filing and processing of over 25 million tax returns, optimizing tax collection through innovative and non-intrusive methods.

Following his retirement in 2014, Mr. Shivpuri continued his contribution to the field as a Senior Standing Counsel for the Income-Tax Department in the Delhi High Court, where he handled over 300 cases, and has appeared as an expert witness on tax matters in international arbitration.

In addition to his legal acumen, Mr. Shivpuri has been actively involved in policy advocacy and arbitration. He is a member of various professional bodies, including the CII Rajasthan, FORTI, and the National Stock Exchange of India's arbitral panel.

Mr. Shivpuri holds several academic accolades, including an MSc in Zoology (Gold Medal), an LLB, and an LLM in International Trade Law and WTO from the National Law University, Jodhpur. He has published research papers on taxation and contributed to notable publications within the Income-Tax Department. he was selected by the Government of India to attend executive management programs at the Wharton School and IIM Bangalore.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Shivpuri is a passionate sportsman and has held leadership roles in organizing prestigious tennis tournaments. He represented India in the Masters World Tennis Series and has been a commentator for major international sporting events, including the Olympics and Asian Games.
